Season 2 of The Office is above and beyond all the other seasons. Episode for episode, it completely crushes every other season. That’s not to say that’s all I watch, but if I had to pick one season to watch over and over, it’s season 2. If you don’t like the office or feel like you don’t “get” it, skip to season 2. I promise you’ll at least gain a small appreciation for this genius show. If not, you’re dead to me.

One of my favorite episodes in Season 2 is The Fire. Ryan the temp burns a cheesy pita in the toaster and the building is evacuated. While they’re waiting outside for the fire department to check on the building, they play Desert Island. In this game you choose you 5 favorite books or movies that you would want to have with you if you were deserted on a desert island. *Bonus: We did albums too.*

I’m a creature of habit. I love to watch and read and listen to my favorites over and over and over. I’m not afraid of new things. I’m just not super optimistic about them being better than my old favorite things. So Desert Island doesn’t frighten me. I got to thinking and talking about it with the Beard.
